Today we left Orlando and headed down to Miami - always a stressful time reading the GPS as can never tell which exit/entry to take and of course it did not take long for wrong turns and lots of yelling and we ended up back where we started not once but 3 times - not a good start to our road trip!! Once we got on the Florida Turnpike which was the major highway it was pretty much smooth sailing from there on in. They have service stops in the middle of the highway and we stopped off about half way to Miami and as we drove in there was this "car washing station" which you drove through and washed your windscreen - only in America!! Finally arrived in Miami at the Holiday Inn which was across the road from the Bayside Markets which is on the water at a Marina which had heaps of shops and bars and restaurants with live music playing and real atmosphere. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe which was great food and you overlooked the whole Marina - I had the Haystack Salad which is one of the best salads!!
